And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takanori Stomi!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stomi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Reedus drives through with a takedown into guard.
Reedus looking to pass the guard.
Reedus is working hard here to advance position.
Stomi wants to stand but Reedus is controlling the position.
Reedus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stomi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Reedus fails with the takedown.

Stomi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reedus.
Some wild striking there from Stomi.
Stomi throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Marcus Steven Reedus has been cut.
Stomi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Reedus counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stomi!

Reedus forces the positional change into back control.

Reedus goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Stomi escapes and is now in half guard on top.

Stomi stands up and beckons Reedus to join him on the feet.

and Reedus counters with a single leg into guard. Stomi didn't expect that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stomi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reedus is one step ahead there.
Reedus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stomi's guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Stomi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Reedus pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stomi is keeping the position for now.
Stomi lands an upkick as Reedus stands over him.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Stomi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stomi throws a combination that misses

and Reedus counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Stomi trying to keep a closed guard but Reedus is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reedus wants to pass the guard but Stomi is keeping the position.
Stomi can't keep his opponent in guard - Reedus advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Stomi wants to get back to his feet.
Reedus wants to free his trapped foot but Stomi is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Reedus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Stomi is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Reedus slips a jab from Stomi.
Stomi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Reedus shoots and misses
and Stomi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Stomi has his takedown stuffed

and Reedus counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Reedus tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stomi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Reedus passes to side control.
You can see the frustration on Stomi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Reedus advances to full mount.
Reedus wants to take Stomi's back but he can't do it this time.
Reedus takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Reedus has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Stomi! Can he survive? No! He's out! Reedus gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
