And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a few strikes there.

Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barnes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Barnes feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Barnes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Barnes is pushing down on Jackson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackson is fighting to maintain full guard but Barnes has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jackson lands with an uppercut that bounces Barnes off the cage and back into rage.
Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet.

Barnes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jackson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Barnes here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Barnes shoots in but no luck this time.

Barnes is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Jackson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Jackson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Barnes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
