PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pao Ling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pasi Ruohonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ling comes into the arena with Jay Chou - General/Checkmate blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pao Ling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pasi Ruohonen!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruohonen wants to clinch up but Ling keeps it at a distance.
Ruohonen moves in looking to clinch but Ling pushes him off.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ruohonen crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ling - the referee stops the clock and Ruohonen gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ling. Ruohonen manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ling misses with a hook. Ruohonen ducked under it nicely.
Ling cracks Ruohonen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ruohonen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Ling waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ruohonen.
Nice defenses there by Ruohonen.
Ruohonen moves in looking to clinch but Ling pushes him off.
Ruohonen tries to clinch but Ling moves out of range.
Ruohonen misses with a body kick.

Ruohonen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ling takes a jab right on the kisser.
Ruohonen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ruohonen tries to clinch there but Ling circles away.
Ling throws a nice outside leg kick.
Ling throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ruohonen looks gassed!
Ling lands a nice looking body shot.
Ling scores with a sloppy right hand. Ruohonen should have avoided that one.
Ling smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ruohonen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ling connects with a jab.

Ling jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ling throws a series of strikes that have Ruohonen backpedaling.

Ling lands a big right hand that sends Ruohonen crashing to the mat! Ling stays standing though and waves Ruohonen back to his feet!

Ling lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Ling thumps Ruohonen with a low kick.

Ling bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Ling drops Ruohonen with a beautiful combination! Ruohonen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ling is looking for the KO!
Ruohonen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ling rushes Ruohonen with punches - Ruohonen moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Ruohonen goes down! Ling follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
