Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Konrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasya Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petrov has chosen Metallica "For Whom The Bell Tolls" as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Konrad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vasya Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Konrad takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Konrad pushes Petrov up against the ropes in a clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Konrad.

Konrad breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Petrov misses with a two punch combination.
A head kick from Petrov lands but Konrad takes it in his stride.


It looks like Kenny Konrad has been cut.
Petrov throws the left hand but Konrad avoids the punch easily.
Vasya Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Petrov lands a big uppercut and Konrad crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Konrad looks OK. Petrov waves Konrad back to his feet!


Konrad is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Petrov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oh Konrad is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Konrad seems to have got his legs back now.
Petrov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Konrad moves away.
Konrad moves in looking to clinch but Petrov pushes him off.
Petrov throws a right hand that Konrad ducks under and follows up with a left that Konrad also avoids with ease.
Konrad shoots in for a takedown but Petrov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Konrad clinches up against the ropes.
Petrov wants to break the clinch but can't.
Konrad keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Petrov's efforts to push away.

Petrov takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Vasya Petrov has been cut.

Petrov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Petrov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Petrov just misses with a punch to the body.
Konrad shoots in but no luck this time.

Konrad moves into the clinch.
Konrad prevents Petrov from breaking the clinch.
Konrad landing knees to the head.
Konrad lands a nice elbow.
Petrov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Konrad lands an elbow inside that Petrov shrugs off.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Konrad prevents Petrov from breaking the clinch.
Petrov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Konrad throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Petrov blocks it with crossed arms.

Petrov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Petrov throws out a loose jab but Konrad uses good head movement to avoid it.

Konrad clinches with his opponent.
Petrov wants to get back to striking at distance but Konrad won't allow it.
Konrad lands an elbow that stopped Petrov in his tracks for a moment.

Konrad pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Petrov takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Petrov throws a sloppy head kick

and Konrad holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Petrov letting Konrad take a breather here.

Petrov is trying to break the clinch but Konrad has him pressed against the ropes.

Konrad connects with a massive knee from the clinch and Petrov goes down! Konrad jumps into full mount looking to finish!

Konrad has control of Petrov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Petrov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Konrad content just to control the position here.

Konrad is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Petrov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Petrov shrugs it off.

Konrad controlling the pace for now.
Petrov is looking to improve his position but Konrad isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Konrad sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vasya Petrov dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Petrov lands with a kick to the temple. Konrad shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Konrad tries to close the distance and clinch up but Petrov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Konrad counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Konrad.
Petrov wants to break the clinch but can't.
Petrov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Petrov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Konrad's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Konrad instigates a clinch.
Konrad lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Petrov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Petrov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Petrov is trying to force a seperation but Konrad has the dominant position.
Petrov is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Konrad lands an elbow inside.
Konrad with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Konrad breaks from the clinch.
Konrad shoots in looking for a takedown. Petrov tries to sprawl out of it but Konrad keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Petrov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Konrad holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Petrov wants to break free but Konrad has control.

Konrad escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Konrad has taken the fight to the clinch.

Konrad's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Konrad clinches.
Konrad is trying to drag Petrov to the mat but Petrov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Konrad tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Konrad lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


That has opened up Vasya Petrov's cut even more.

Konrad tries a knee to the head but Petrov blocks it.
Konrad misses with an elbow strike.

Konrad breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Petrov throws a head kick that misses
and Konrad counters with a head kick. That will keep Petrov thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Konrad makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Petrov really felt that one!
Petrov is breathing heavily.

and Konrad counters by clinching up.
A frustrated look appears on Petrov's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Konrad is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Konrad lands a big knee to the head and Petrov goes down! Konrad is looking to finish!
Petrov is still in real trouble! Can Konrad finish him?
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Konrad decides to stand back up.
Petrov throws a sloppy head kick

and Konrad moves into the clinch.
Petrov seems to have recovered his senses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Konrad breaks the clinch.

Konrad closes the distance and clinches.
Konrad with a knee to the head.
Konrad jerks Petrov's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Petrov drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Konrad goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Konrad because Petrov was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
