Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Giuseppe Omni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omni comes to the cage accompanied by Search and Destroy. Redman has chosen Sympathy for the Devil as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Giuseppe Omni! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Redman! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Omni throws a leg kick but Redman checks it. Redman checks a leg kick nicely. Redman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Good leg kick by Omni there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Redman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Omni throws a leg kick but Redman moved away. Redman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Redman content to control rather than advance. Omni tries to roll over but Redman keeps him under control. Omni looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redman performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Omni is trying to maintain the position but Redman is very close to passing his half guard. Redman content to control rather than advance. Redman works his way into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Redman controlling his opponent. Omni really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Omni is squirming around, avoiding Redman's attempts to control the action. Omni has given up his back. Will we see Redman going for some submissions?

Redman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Redman has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Omni's body.
Despite being in the dominant position, Johnny Redman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Omni with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Omni looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Redman avoids the head kick by Omni.
Redman misses with a takedown attempt - Omni sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Redman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Omni doesn't manage to clinch there - Redman circles away.
Redman blocks a head kick by Omni.
Redman keeps the fight on the outside. Omni just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Redman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Omni is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Redman jumps into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Redman dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Omni misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Redman tries for a takedown but Omni sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Giuseppe Omni is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Omni tries to close the distance and clinch up but Redman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Omni throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Omni tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Redman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Omni pinned against the cage. Omni gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Giuseppe Omni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Omni misses with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Omni is looking to clinch. Omni tries to clinch up but Redman circles away and keeps his distance. Omni leaves Redman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Giuseppe Omni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Redman. Redman swats away the attempt to clinch by Omni. Omni misses with a wild body shot. Redman checks the leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Omni blocks the body kick.
Redman misses with a takedown attempt - Omni sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Redman on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Omni. Omni obviously looking to wear him down.
Omni tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Omni swings away with a leg kick that misses. Omni scoring well with a low kick there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Omni tries to clinch up but Redman circles away and keeps his distance. Redman shoots in and bounces Omni off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Redman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Omni has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Redman has managed to get both his arms back between Omni's legs - danger averted. Omni is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Redman defends well. Omni keeping full guard, as Redman tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Redman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Redman trying to control the position from guard on top but Omni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Omni looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Giuseppe Omni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Omni throws a body kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Redman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Omni is trying to defend but Redman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Redman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Omni does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Redman controlling the pace. Omni is staying active underneath Redman, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Omni has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Redman is working away from the top position though. Omni might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Omni looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Redman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Redman sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Redman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Omni tries to avoid it but Redman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Omni to the ground. Omni escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Omni wants to clinch. Redman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Omni comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Omni takes a swing at Redman's ribcage but misses. Omni misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Redman.
Redman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Giuseppe Omni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Redman. Omni displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Redman. Omni fails with an attempt to clinch.

Redman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Omni. Omni cracks the inside of Redman's front leg. Omni looks to throw the jab but Redman is out of range. Omni cracks Redman with an open hand slap. Giuseppe Omni is winning the standup battle so far. Omni misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Redman shoots in for a takedown but Omni shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Redman misses with a looping left. Omni is looking to clinch. Omni misses with a body kick. Omni tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Redman was well out of range. Poor timing from Omni. Omni doesn't manage to clinch there - Redman circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Omni does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Redman shoots in for a takedown but Omni shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Omni is looking to clinch but Redman is avoiding it.
Omni throws a sloppy head kick and Redman moves out of range easily. Omni tries to clinch up. Good work by Redman as he checks the leg kick. Omni stuffs the takedown. Redman ducks right into an uppercut from Omni.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Redman ducks under a wild hook from Omni. Omni misses with a head kick.
Omni lands a lovely overhand right. Omni scores with a kick to the midsection. Omni is looking to clinch. Redman keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Omni. Redman throws a lazy body kick and Omni counters with a solid body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Omni throws a low kick but Redman avoids it. Redman moves out of range of the body kick from Omni.
Redman doesn't succeed with the takedown and Omni counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Giuseppe Omni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Redman. Redman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Omni looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Omni stops Redman from passing to mount. Omni tries to buck Redman off but Redman is having none of it. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Redman wants to control but Omni is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Redman looking to control but instead Omni has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Omni looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Redman not doing much here.
Redman wants to take a breather but Omni is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Giuseppe Omni had his way with Johnny Redman in that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Redman with a poor takedown and Omni counters with a good low kick that Redman was not able to check. Omni looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Omni looks to land a body kick but Redman moved away. Omni lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Redman's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Omni throws a low kick but Redman avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Omni tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Omni avoids a kick to the body.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Redman with a poor takedown and Omni makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Omni throws a shot from downtown. Redman moves away and avoids it. Omni gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Redman to score an easy takedown into full guard. Omni looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Redman preventing the sweep. Redman trying to control the position from guard on top but Omni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Redman controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Johnny Redman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Omni looking for a sweep. Not yet Omni, not yet. Omni keeping moving, preventing Redman from controlling successfully. Redman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Omni misses with a few strikes there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redman avoids a kick to the body.
Omni with a nice cross. Omni throws a hook but Redman blocks it. Omni looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Redman shoots and misses and Omni counters with a flying knee. Nice. Giuseppe Omni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Redman. Omni throws a chopping leg kick but Redman manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Omni tries to close the distance and clinch up but Redman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Omni throws a leg kick which misses Redman's front leg but catches the back leg as Redman tries to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good work by Redman as he checks the leg kick. Omni throws a head kick that misses. Redman with a poor takedown and Omni connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A punch combination from Omni misses. A clash of legs there as Redman blocks the low kick. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Omni is looking to score with low kicks. Redman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
