Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Rockovsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Przemyslaw Saleta! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rockovsky. Saleta looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Saleta scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rockovsky doesn't seem bothered though. Rockovsky shoots in for a double leg but Saleta sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rockovsky shoots for a takedown but Saleta saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boris Rockovsky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Saleta clinches. Saleta gets underhooks to prevent Rockovsky's takedown attempt.
Rockovsky keeps control of Saleta as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Saleta wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rockovsky has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Saleta is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Saleta wants to get back to striking at distance but Rockovsky won't allow it.
Saleta manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rockovsky. Rockovsky fails with a takedown attempt. Saleta keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saleta closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rockovsky did well to prevent Saleta getting side control. Saleta wants to stand up but Rockovsky is controlling the position.
Saleta has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Rockovsky works to full guard. Saleta wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Rockovsky's closed guard. He's half up but Rockovsky has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Rockovsky pivots and extends the arm, Saleta falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Rockovsky! Well done that man!
