The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre throws a right and a left that both miss.
St Pierre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Oak shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts St Pierre as he jumps to the side.
St Pierre fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
St Pierre moves out of range of the body kick.
St Pierre throws a right hand that Oak ducks under and follows up with a left that Oak also avoids with ease.
The fight stays on the outside here - Oak looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oak misses with a straight left.
Oak throws the kick towards the body but St Pierre avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
St Pierre scores with a one two! Oak had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Oak throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and St Pierre counters with a three punch combo that has Oak backing up. Oak nods at St Pierre to acknowledge the strikes.
St Pierre scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Gary Oak has been cut.
Oak misses with a double jab

and St Pierre counters with a nice double leg into guard.
St Pierre wants to stand but Oak has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

St Pierre slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oak gets back to half guard.
Oak is pressing down on St Pierre's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

St Pierre is looking to advance position but Oak has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Oak is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but St Pierre is surviving well by controlling Oak's body position as best he can.

Oak lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Oak fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Oak gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
St Pierre lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that George St Pierre will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Oak tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

George St Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Oak.

and St Pierre counters with a left and a right that stings Oak.
Oak dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oak lands a nice leg kick that just misses St Pierre's sensitive parts.
St Pierre avoids the head kick by Oak.

Oak with a lazy takedown attempt
and Oak takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Oak is breathing heavily.
Oak moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
St Pierre stalks Oak and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Oak's face. Oak staggers backwards, shaken.

and St Pierre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Oak's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oak has hold of St Pierre's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and St Pierre manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Oak wants to control the pace but St Pierre is squirming around nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Oak throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
St Pierre is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Oak postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. St Pierre looks a forlorn figure.

That was a close second round but I would say that George St Pierre will probably get the nod.

St Pierre stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and St Pierre wants it to stay on the feet.

George St Pierre showed his dominance in that final round.
Well St Pierre has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
