PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Golith Dionesia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. On his way into the cage it seems that Golith Dionesia has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Golith Dionesia seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis gets caught flat footed, as Dionesia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dionesia working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Davis looks gassed!
Dionesia throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dionesia stands up over Davis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Davis keeping moving, preventing Dionesia from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dionesia trying to stand up but can't free himself from Davis's guard.

Dionesia stands up and waves to Davis to follow him.

Dionesia is nestled in close to Davis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dionesia seems to be working for a kimura but Davis defends the submission attempt.
Davis is trying to stand up here but Dionesia is controlling him well.

Dionesia thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.

Davis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dionesia scores with a couple of nice shots.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dionesia moves in looking to clinch but Davis pushes him off.
Dionesia walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Davis checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Golith Dionesia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dionesia's guard.

Davis content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Dionesia has locked up a guillotine! Dionesia's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Davis is holding on here and Dionesia must be using up a lot of energy. Davis has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Dionesia gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
