Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kevin Nash!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Griffin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nash.
Griffin staying out of range there.
Griffin dives in and grabs Nash's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nash pushes down on Griffin's head and hops out.
Nash lands a jab-cross combination.
Nash rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Griffin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Griffin ducks under a wild hook from Nash.
Nash swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nash throws a right and a left that Griffin avoids nicely.
Nash throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Griffin feints and as Nash raises his hands in defense, Griffin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Griffin controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Griffin prevents Nash from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin passes Nash's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Griffin is controlling the pace.
Nash wants to get back to his feet.
Griffin scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Griffin controlling the pace.
Griffin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Griffin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Griffin is nestled in close to Nash, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Nash looks gassed!
Griffin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Griffin wants to free his trapped foot but Nash is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nash can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nash is trying to escape back to his feet but Griffin uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Griffin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Nash some visible discomfort.
Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Griffin in side control lands a decent elbow.
A lull in the action here as Griffin stalls from top position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Griffin misses with the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nash takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Griffin dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Griffin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nash did well to prevent Griffin getting side control.
Well, if Griffin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Griffin moves nicely into side control.
Nash takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Griffin lands a few punches from side control.
Nash is breathing heavily.

The ground and pound from Griffin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Griffin tries for a kimura but Nash is defending well.

Griffin throws a strike aimed at the side of Nash's head but Nash avoids it well.
Griffin prevents Nash from escaping the position.
Griffin tries to score with some ground and pound. Nash controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Griffin is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Nash will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Griffin grinds an elbow into Nash's temple.

Griffin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Griffin throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Nash pushes Griffin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Griffin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Griffin takes a little break here. Nash wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Check out the look on Griffin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Griffin landing strikes.
Griffin lands a few punches from side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Griffin throws an elbow but Nash slips to the side and avoids it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A lull in the action here.
Griffin cracks Nash with a big right hand but Nash just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Griffin dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Griffin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Griffin moves into full mount! Nash won't be happy about that!
Griffin cracks Nash with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Randy Griffin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Griffin landing strikes from the mount and Nash is in trouble!


Nash is rocked!
Griffin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Nash is still in real trouble! Can Griffin finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Griffin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nash hang on?
Griffin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nash can do to turn this around?
Nash takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A big strike lands for Griffin! That's really hurt Nash and he's turned his back - Griffin keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Griffin jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randy Griffin!
