Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Milo Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Smith! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson clinches with his opponent.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jackson. Jackson pushes Smith back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Smith working hard to break the clinch. Jackson goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jackson has managed to clinch.
Jackson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards. Jackson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Smith is keeping busy. Jackson tries to throw a body punch but Smith avoids it by throwing Jackson back against the cage. Smith working hard to break the clinch. Smith tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jackson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smith pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jackson wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milo Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jackson advances position into side control! Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smith has escaped the position, nice work there. Jackson is trying to get an arm triangle but Smith is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to get back to half guard. Jackson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working. Jackson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jackson tries to advance to mount but Smith denies him. Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smith has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jackson advances to mount. Smith tries to reverse the position but Jackson maintains control. Jackson looking to control and managing it successfully. Smith regains half guard. Jackson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Smith is squirming around, avoiding Jackson's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith tries to lock up and control but Jackson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Jackson wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely. Jackson controlling the position easily from mount. Jackson has control of Smith's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Smith regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jackson swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
