Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zion Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couture kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is UB40 - Red Red Wine . Gonzalez has chosen St. Anger by Metallica as his entrance music. Zion Gonzalez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Couture swivels and escapes.
Good standup being displayed there by Couture as he connects with a hook.
Couture lands a body shot.
Couture misses with the combination.
Couture throws a hook but Gonzalez avoids it easily.
Couture fails to land the takedown.
Couture misses with the combination.
Gonzalez moves forwards but Couture connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Randy Couture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Couture scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Couture throws a jab when Gonzalez was well out of range.
Couture throws an overhand right that lands on Gonzalez's shoulder, as Gonzalez tries to avoid the shot.
Nice takedown defense from Gonzalez. No joy for Couture on that attempt.
Couture looks to land a combination but Gonzalez avoids it well.
Couture looks to throw the jab but Gonzalez is out of range.

and Couture cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gonzalez shoots for a takedown but Couture saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Randy Couture has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zion Gonzalez.

Couture moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Couture shoots in for a takedown but Gonzalez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Couture cracks a nice hook into Gonzalez's ribs.

Couture tries to bum rush Gonzalez with a series of wild strikes but Gonzalez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Couture throws an overhand right that lands on Gonzalez's shoulder, as Gonzalez tries to avoid the shot.

Horrible takedown by Gonzalez or perhaps it was just good defense by Couture which made him look bad.
Gonzalez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Couture is trying to defend but Gonzalez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Gonzalez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gonzalez is working for a submission of some sort.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gonzalez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Couture is just riding it out for now. Gonzalez eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Couture dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A telegraphed right hand from Couture misses the target.
Gonzalez shoots for a double leg takedown but Couture sprawls well. He's pushed Gonzalez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Couture lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Zion Gonzalez has been cut.
Couture throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A telegraphed right hand from Couture misses the target.
Gonzalez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Couture connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Couture misses with the combination.
Gonzalez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Couture drops Gonzalez with a beautiful combination! Gonzalez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Couture is looking for the KO!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Couture throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Couture looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Couture fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gonzalez takes one on the button.
Gonzalez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Couture throws out the jab.
Nice shot by Couture.
Couture misses with a jab, cross combination.
Couture misses with a straight right.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Couture misses the jab.
Couture doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gonzalez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Couture won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzalez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Couture is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Couture is pushing Gonzalez's head away, looking to escape. Gonzalez manages to hold on to the position though.
Gonzalez has an Americana. Couture didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gonzalez is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gonzalez hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Zion Gonzalez!
