Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Desecrator! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Powers! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Desecrator gets caught flat footed, as Powers shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Powers wants to control from the top but Desecrator keeps moving. Desecrator can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Powers controls the pace. Desecrator is trying to keep Powers in close.
Powers controls from within his opponent's guard. Powers wants to control from the top but Desecrator keeps moving. Powers advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Desecrator is trying to escape the position but Powers is controlling the position. Desecrator is trying to get back to half guard. Desecrator wants to control but Powers postures up. Desecrator is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Powers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Powers moves into full mount! Powers is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Desecrator has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Desecrator is desperately trying to improve his position but Powers has a good base and remains in mount. Desecrator is breathing heavily. Desecrator is squirming around, avoiding Powers's attempts to control the action. Desecrator is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Powers has taken his back! So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Let's hope that Powers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I looks like Powers might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Despite being in the dominant position, Max Powers just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Powers shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Powers was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Powers throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Powers with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Powers avoids the attempt from Desecrator to control. Desecrator slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Powers wants to free his trapped foot but Desecrator is holding on for dear life with his legs. Desecrator is looking to control Powers's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Desecrator avoid being mounted? Powers throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Powers dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Powers gets the takedown into side control. Powers trying to control the position but Desecrator is working away. Powers just content to control the position. Desecrator tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Powers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Powers is looking to take a break and control but Desecrator is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Powers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Desecrator dodges the ground and pound from Powers. Desecrator can't do much from the bottom here. Desecrator trying to remain calm as Powers controls from the top position. Desecrator managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Powers.
Powers looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Powers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Desecrator, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powers has knee on belly and moves into mount. Powers trying to control but Desecrator is having none of it. Powers throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Desecrator is looking to improve his position but Powers isn't that keen on the idea. Powers controlling the position easily from mount. Powers has control of Desecrator's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Desecrator regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Powers trying to control but Desecrator is having none of it. Desecrator tries to hold on but Powers postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Powers tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Desecrator is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Powers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Powers feints and as Desecrator raises his hands in defense, Powers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Powers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Powers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Desecrator keeping moving, preventing Powers from controlling successfully. Powers looking to pass the guard. Desecrator is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Powers is aware though and is defending well. Powers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Desecrator works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Desecrator keeping moving, preventing Powers from controlling successfully. Powers looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Desecrator wants to get back to his feet but Powers is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Desecrator scores with a takedown into Powers's guard. Desecrator trying to control the position from guard on top but Powers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Powers looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Desecrator is defending well. Powers quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Desecrator has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Powers celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
