Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taye Silcic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giraldo Esparza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silcic comes into the arena with Jedi Mind Tricks-Kublai Khan blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Taye Silcic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giraldo Esparza! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silcic looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Silcic looking to sit in guard and control but Esparza gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Esparza pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silcic is keeping the position for now. Silcic looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Esparza working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Esparza postures up in Silcic's guard and throws a big left but Silcic blocks it. Silcic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Esparza defends well. Esparza with a flurry of punches that miss. Esparza stands up over Silcic, holding his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silcic working for a triangle but Esparza defends it easily.
Esparza working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silcic's head. Esparza passes easily into side control. Nice work. Silcic is working to avoid the ground and pound but Esparza connects with a decent elbow. Silcic tries to buck Esparza off but Esparza is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Esparza lands an elbow. Silcic is not content to let Esparza control the position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Silcic is looking to reverse the position. Esparza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silcic keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silcic is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Esparza is looking to take a break and control but Silcic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Silcic takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Silcic is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Silcic is doing well to control the position and prevent Esparza from advancing to side control. Silcic avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Esparza. Esparza prevents Silcic from improving his position. Silcic wants to control but Esparza is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silcic regains full guard. Nicely done. Silcic might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Esparza trying to control the position from guard on top but Silcic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Esparza throws a big right hand that misses. Silcic is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Esparza connects with a couple of short punches. Esparza throws and elbow that misses. Silcic uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Esparza's guard. Nice move by Silcic! Esparza looks gassed! Esparza controls Silcic momentarily but Silcic frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silcic postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Esparza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silcic, into his guard. Silcic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Esparza doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Esparza manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Silcic swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Giraldo Esparza will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Esparza chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Silcic can pounce on him.
Silcic gets a clinch. Silcic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silcic fails with a takedown attempt. Esparza with a poor takedown so Silcic counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Silcic stands up from Esparza's guard - Silcic perhaps looking for a knockout. Esparza with a lazy takedown attempt and Silcic counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Esparza's guard now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Esparza can't keep his opponent in guard - Silcic advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Esparza is defending against the submission attempts here by Silcic.

That's one minute gone in the round. Silcic not landing any meaningful shots this time. Silcic passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Esparza! Silcic working for a guillotine from mount but Esparza is in no mood to give up. Silcic has hold of Esparza's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Esparza manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Esparza is desperately trying to improve his position but Silcic has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silcic looking to secure an arm triangle but Esparza defends it well. BOOM! Silcic connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Esparza is squirming around, avoiding Silcic's attempts to control the action. Silcic is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Esparza is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Esparza flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Silcic anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Esparza and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Silcic slips an arm under Esparza chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Silcic has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Silcic is squeezing on Esparza like an anaconda would it's prey. Esparza fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Taye Silcic!
