Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Striker Rekirts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon The Blanket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon The Blanket!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rekirts fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Jon The Blanket seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Blanket throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rekirts's waist but Rekirts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Blanket off to one side.

The Blanket wants to free his trapped foot but Rekirts is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The Blanket has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rekirts can't do much from the bottom here.
The Blanket cracks Rekirts with a big right hand but Rekirts just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The Blanket creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The Blanket fails to land the takedown.
The Blanket shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rekirts pinned against the cage. Rekirts gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The Blanket misses with a takedown attempt - Rekirts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rekirts throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rekirts gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The Blanket scoring with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Striker Rekirts dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



The Blanket shoots in and bounces Rekirts off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rekirts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst The Blanket is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Blanket slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rekirts is working to avoid the ground and pound but The Blanket connects with a decent elbow.

The Blanket is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rekirts looks calm but he's in trouble here. The Blanket gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rekirts is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! The Blanket lets go of the hold and Rekirts can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jon The Blanket!
