Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Ransom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Scholtz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ransom kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is fight fire with fire - metallica. Dexter Ransom has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Scholtz! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ransom wants to clinch. Scholtz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ransom. Ransom waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Scholtz. The fight stays on the outside here - Scholtz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ransom throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ransom is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Scholtz. Ransom throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Scholtz avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Scholtz has his takedown stuffed and Ransom counters by clinching up. A nice right hand lands inside from Ransom. Scholtz manages to break the clinch.
Ransom loads up on a big right hand but Scholtz slips the punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ransom throws a combination. Scholtz tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Vladimir Scholtz has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scholtz gets a clinch. Scholtz has Ransom pressed against the cage, preventing Ransom from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Scholtz has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ransom is trying to keep an underhook but Scholtz manages to get the takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scholtz postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Ransom to stand up. Scholtz clinches with his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scholtz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Scholtz is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Ransom tries to clinch up and Scholtz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scholtz. Scholtz preventing the sweep. Ransom throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Scholtz tries to hold on but Ransom pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ransom unloads with some shots from mount but Scholtz bucks and avoids them well.
Scholtz sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Scholtz looks gassed! Nice strikes from Ransom there. Scholtz is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scholtz is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ransom scores with a couple of nice shots. Ransom not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Scholtz tries to get to full guard but Ransom has control of the leg. Ransom looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Scholtz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ransom not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ransom lands strikes from half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ransom wants to control but Scholtz is keeping him busy. Ransom drops an elbow to the side of Scholtz's head. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scholtz can do anything to dispel that myth. Ransom not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ransom thows a huge punch but Scholtz dodges it nicely.

Ransom has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ransom landing with the ground and pound. Ransom keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Scholtz's head. Scholtz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ransom scores with a crisp jab that stopped Scholtz in his tracks. Ransom throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Scholtz counters with a shoot takedown. Ransom fights it but they end up in guard. Scholtz stopping the sweep attempt from Ransom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ransom trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Scholtz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ransom tries to bum rush Scholtz with a series of wild strikes but Scholtz uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ransom tries to clinch up and Scholtz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scholtz. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ransom throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Scholtz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ransom's guard. Scholtz wants to control but Ransom is keeping him busy. Scholtz tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ransom controls his leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Vladimir Scholtz will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Vladimir Scholtz's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A jab from Ransom finds it's way through Scholtz's defenses. Scholtz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ransom as he jumps to the side. Ransom wants to clinch but Scholtz slips to the side and Scholtz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Scholtz passes Ransom's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ransom wants to get back to full guard. Ransom flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ransom is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scholtz scores with a couple of nice shots. Scholtz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Scholtz trying to control the action but Ransom is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ransom clinches with his opponent.
Ransom has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ransom tries to break the clinch but Scholtz is controlling the position. Scholtz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ransom gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Scholtz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ransom's efforts to push away. Ransom lands a left hand that snaps the head of Scholtz backwards. Scholtz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ransom misses with a two punch combination.
Scholtz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ransom is trying to escape the position but Scholtz is controlling the position. Scholtz stands up and beckons Ransom to his feet. Ransom lands a jab to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ransom misses with a looping right. Scholtz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Ransom throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Scholtz slips nicely into half guard. Scholtz lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Ransom throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Scholtz works his foot free and advances to mount. Scholtz with a couple of short strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ransom can't escape the position.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Scholtz. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Scholtz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Ransom is desperately trying to improve his position but Scholtz has a good base and remains in mount. Ransom wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Ransom prevents Scholtz from getting a body triangle. Scholtz controls the position. Scholtz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ransom has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Scholtz is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Ransom up.
Scholtz cracks Ransom with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Ransom from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Scholtz tries to keep control of the position but Ransom is staying busy. Ransom tries to escape the position.

Vladimir Scholtz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Vladimir Scholtz's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ransom slips a nice elbow through Scholtz's hands, connecting with Scholtz's forehead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ransom drops an elbow to the side of Scholtz's head. Scholtz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ransom working the head and body with strikes. Scholtz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Scholtz keeping hold of Ransom's head, controlling as best he can. Scholtz looking for submissions off his back. Scholtz is trying is best to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Scholtz tries to roll over but Ransom keeps him under control. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ransom lands a nice short elbow. Scholtz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Scholtz gets back to full guard.

Scholtz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ransom's guard. Scholtz trying to control but Ransom is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scholtz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ransom swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ransom scores with a short punch from the bottom. Scholtz preventing the sweep. Ransom throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Scholtz decides to stand back up. Scholtz tries to clinch up. Ransom clobbers Scholtz with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Ransom getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Scholtz is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ransom. Ransom throws a series of punches but Scholtz avoids them all with ease. Ransom misses with a takedown and Scholtz counters by moving into the clinch. Ransom has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ransom wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Scholtz lands with a short shot to the head. Scholtz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ransom smiles and moves away.
Donk. Ransom catches Scholtz right on the button with a cross.
And that's the end of the fight! Vladimir Scholtz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Scholtz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
