Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Futcar connects with a jab.
Futcar drives through and clinches with Laraque against the cage.
Futcar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Futcar lands an overhand right.
Futcar connects with a crisp jab.
Futcar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Laraque.
Futcar gets a takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Futcar wants to pass to mount but Laraque is defending the position.
Laraque is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Futcar scores with a couple of nice shots.
Laraque keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Laraque is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Futcar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Futcar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Futcar wants to control but Laraque is keeping him busy.
Laraque looks like he's trying to stand up.

Futcar uses his free foot to push down on Laraque's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Laraque.
Futcar can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Laraque is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Futcar takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Futcar is landing with strikes from the back.
Laraque tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Laraque is looking to improve his position but Futcar isn't that keen on the idea.
Futcar tries to control but Laraque wriggling away.

Futcar controlling the position easily from mount.
Futcar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Futcar is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Laraque shoots in for a takedown but Futcar shows good takedown defense.
Laraque takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Laraque looks gassed!
Futcar misses with a double jab.
Laraque takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Futcar gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Laraque wants a takedown.
Futcar tries to score a body lock takedown but Laraque shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Futcar breaks from the clinch.

Futcar tests Laraque's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Laraque gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Futcar wants to control from the top but Laraque keeps moving.
Futcar sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Futcar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Futcar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Futcar thows a big elbow that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laraque can do anything to dispel that myth.

Futcar wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Laraque is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Futcar pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Futcar jumps guard.
Laraque advances position into side control!
Laraque scores with punches from side control.

Laraque in side control, throwing shots but Futcar defends.
Futcar is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Laraque's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Laraque is breathing heavily.
Futcar is concentrating on defense, preventing Laraque from advancing position.
Futcar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Laraque pulls his head out easily.
Futcar is pressing down on Laraque's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Futcar controls Laraque momentarily but Laraque frees himself.
Futcar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Futcar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Futcar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Laraque manages to get himself to full guard.
Futcar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laraque swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Futcar trying to control but Laraque is working from the bottom.
Laraque looking for a triangle here. Futcar is fighting it but it looks tight! Laraque pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Futcar is tapping out - this one is all over!
