Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Greco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Miyagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hiro Miyagi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jose Greco! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Miyagi! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Greco shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miyagi's guard. Miyagi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Greco postures up.
Miyagi tries to strike from the bottom.
Greco trying to move into half guard but instead Miyagi has managed to sweep! Greco is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Greco not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Miyagi tries to free his leg and advance position but Greco is retaining full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Greco looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Miyagi! Miyagi is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Miyagi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Miyagi gets back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miyagi is looking to control Greco's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Miyagi avoid being mounted? Miyagi is looking for a sweep. Greco is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Miyagi moves into full guard.
Miyagi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Miyagi looking for a sweep. Not yet Miyagi, not yet. Miyagi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Miyagi looks gassed! Greco wants to stand but Miyagi has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Miyagi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Greco trying to control the position from guard on top but Miyagi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Greco is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Miyagi looking for a sweep. Not yet Miyagi, not yet. Greco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miyagi on the ground. Miyagi keeping moving, preventing Greco from controlling successfully. Greco won't allow Miyagi to sweep him here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Greco fails with a takedown attempt. Miyagi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miyagi lands in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miyagi looking to pass the guard. Miyagi cracks Greco with a solid left hand. Greco on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Greco tries to get out of the position. Miyagi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Greco swivels though and keeps the full guard. Miyagi stands and throws Greco's legs to the side, diving into side control. Greco is looking to reverse the position. Greco wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Miyagi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Miyagi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Greco is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Miyagi prevents Greco from escaping the position. Miyagi has hold of Greco's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Greco seems comfortable defending it but Miyagi has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Greco is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Greco is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Miyagi couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hiro Miyagi! Hiro Miyagi retains his welterweight title!
