Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Willis! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Willis lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Willis swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva. Willis scores with a decent looking hook. Willis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Willis gets slowly back to his feet. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Willis checks a leg kick. Willis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Willis somewhat. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Willis. Carlos Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Willis. Willis has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Willis takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Willis successfully pulls guard.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Willis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Silva won't allow Willis to get back to his feet. Willis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Willis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Willis wants to sweep but no luck. Silva pushes down on Willis's leg and manages to get into half guard. Willis looks gassed! Willis controlling the position for now. Willis wants to control the action here but instead Silva manages to pass to full mount! Silva with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Willis is trying to escape the mount.
Silva lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Willis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Silva is staying active. Willis tries to control Silva's body but Silva pushes him off. Willis squirms to his side and now Silva has his back! Silva is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Silva has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Willis. Silva lands strikes to the head. Silva is hanging on to Willis's back as he tries to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva scores with punches and elbows. Willis looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Willis can't escape the position.
Silva looking for the RNC. Silva is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Willis knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Willis for a finish. I really don't envy Willis right now.

That was a close round but I would say that Carlos Silva will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A combination from Silva does no damage. Willis tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch. Silva jumps guard but Willis stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Willis is working for takedown but Silva is calmly controlling the position for now. Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Willis has double underhooks. Willis can't get the takedown.
Silva goes for a takedown attempt but Willis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Carlos Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva takes a kick to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Willis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Willis getting side control. Willis is thwarting Silva's attempts to control the position. Willis trying to control from half guard but Silva is working away. Silva works his way to full guard. Good work. Silva keeping moving, preventing Willis from controlling successfully. Willis prevents Silva from getting back to his feet. Silva doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Willis is one step ahead there. Willis postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Willis closes the distance and clinches. Silva goes for a takedown attempt but Willis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Willis stuffs the takedown. Willis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis decides to take the fight back to the feet. Willis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Willis didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Willis is trying to control the position but Silva postures up. Willis wants to improve his position but instead Silva has moved into half guard.
Willis is looking to escape. Silva is thwarting Willis's attempts to control the position. Willis punching from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Willis looking for submissions off his back. Silva trying to control from half guard but Willis is working away.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silva throws a lazy head kick and Willis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Willis unloads a knee to the mid-section. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Willis breaks the clinch.
Silva looks to clinch and Willis counters by clinching up. Willis stalling.
Willis jumps guard but Silva stands there with Willis around his waist. Willis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bruce Willis will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Silva passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Willis! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Willis reaches up to try and control the position but Silva seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Willis rolls and tries to escape and now Silva has his back!

That's one minute gone in the round. Willis tries to escape but Silva has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Will Silva go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Willis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Willis is holding onto Silva's left hand, preventing any choke attempts. Willis manages to reverse the position and now he's in Silva's guard. Nice work there by Willis.
Willis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Carlos Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Willis wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Willis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Willis is stalling in the full guard. Silva is working an open guard so Willis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Silva fails with a takedown attempt. Willis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Willis clinches with his opponent.
Willis can't get the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis tries to pull guard but Silva won't allow it.
Carlos Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Willis. Silva is working for takedown but Willis is calmly controlling the position for now. Silva gets control of Willis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Willis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Willis stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position. Willis preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Willis sitting in guard, not really doing much. Willis preventing the sweep. Willis throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely. Willis trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom. Willis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos Silva showed his dominance in that final round. I think Silva has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
