Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lee Marshall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Justin Silva! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely. Silva throws a right and a left that both miss. Marshall misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Marshall shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Marshall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva closes the distance and pushes Marshall back into the cage. Silva works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Marshall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Marshall is trying to control the action in half guard but Silva is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva wants to get back to full guard but Marshall has mounted him! Silva is looking to improve his position but Marshall isn't that keen on the idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva tries to improve his position but Marshall has taken his back! Marshall has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Silva tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Marshall pushes Silva away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
