Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lukasz Gimel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasqez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Lukasz Gimel has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lukasz Gimel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Velasqez! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gimel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Velasqez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Velasqez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Velasqez wants to pass the guard but Gimel is keeping the position. Velasqez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gimel's guard. Gimel avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Velasqez. Velasqez seems to be working for a kimura but Gimel defends the submission attempt. Velasqez trying to mount his opponent but Gimel defends it. Gimel tries to roll over but Velasqez keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gimel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Velasqez counters with a shoot takedown. Gimel fights it but they end up in guard. Velasqez advances to half guard. Velasqez is trying to work for a kimura but Gimel is defending well.
Velasqez looks gassed! Gimel looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are battling for position here. Gimel manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gimel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Velasqez pushing down on Gimel's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Gimel tries to roll over but Velasqez keeps him under control. Velasqez decides to stand and escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velasqez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gimel can't escape the position.
Velasqez wants to finish this one by submission but Gimel is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Velasqez. Gimel is wriggling around trying to escape.
Velasqez looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Gimel working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasqez with good strikes from the mount here! Gimel is desperately trying to improve his position but Velasqez has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasqez is working for a guillotine from mount but Gimel frees his head quite easily.
Gimel is trying to escape the mount.
Velasqez working away from the top, dropping strikes. Gimel slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Velasqez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gimel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Velasqez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Velasqez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gimel doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Velasqez. Velasqez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gimel is just riding it out for now. Velasqez eventually gives up the hold. Gimel is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gimel manages to get to full guard.
Gimel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Velasqez drops back looking for a leg! Gimel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gimel manages to kick Velasqez off! Velasqez jumps back into Gimel's guard. Velasqez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Velasqez passes easily into side control. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Velasqez dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Velasqez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gimel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Velasqez's guard now. Gimel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gimel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Velasqez wants to stand but Gimel is controlling the position. Gimel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Velasqez prevents Gimel from moving into mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gimel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gimel moves into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasqez has given up his back here. Will Gimel look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Gimel working for a choke but Velasqez is defending well. Gimel is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Velasqez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Velasqez is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Gimel off. It looks like it's working - Gimel slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Velasqez displaying calm under pressure there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Velasqez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Gimel tries to get back to half guard but can't. Velasqez is working to tighten is grip on Gimel's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gimel has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Velasqez is really squeezing tight and eventually Gimel passes out! Velasqez breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Cain Velasqez!
