Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Grant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Claude Gilbert! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grant fails with the takedown. Grant tries to clinch but Gilbert is having none of it. Grant changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gilbert looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Gilbert is looking for a sweep. Gilbert is not content to let Grant control the position. Gilbert gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gilbert is staying active underneath Grant, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gilbert trying to control from the bottom.

Gilbert tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Grant has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Grant working for a guillotine from mount but Gilbert is in no mood to give up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gilbert wants to control but Grant is having none of it. Grant dominating with strikes here. Grant content just to control the position here. Gilbert is in all sorts of trouble here.

Grant wants to control the pace but Gilbert is squirming around nicely. Gilbert is trying desperately to improve position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gilbert tries to lock up and control but Grant gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Grant is landing with some decent strikes but Gilbert is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Grant manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gilbert to take his back! Gilbert looks gassed! Grant loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Gilbert hold on?

Gilbert grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Grant tries to get the hooks in deep but Gilbert pushed the leg off. Gilbert is trying to break free.
Grant has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Gilbert is defending well but eventually Grant manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Gilbert has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
