Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Kelso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arnold Braan! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Braan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kelso sees it coming and avoids it easily. Braan misses with a series of wild punches.

Braan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kelso shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Braan's guard. Kelso trying to control the position from guard on top but Braan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kelso distracts Braan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kelso lands a couple of decent looking shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Braan wants to stand up but Kelso is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kelso accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kelso cracks Braan with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Braan wants to stand but Kelso is controlling the position. Kelso throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Braan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kelso has gone for a leg lock! Braan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kelso's guard. Braan wants to get up but he can't break Kelso's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Braan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kelso is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kelso looking for a triangle here. Braan is fighting it but it looks tight! Kelso pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Braan is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Michael Kelso!
