Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nakitu Mijashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Cannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nakitu Mijashi! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cannon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Cannon wants to pass to mount but Mijashi is defending the position. Mijashi is defending against the submission attempts here by Cannon.
Cannon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Cannon wants to pass to mount but Mijashi is defending the position. Cannon winds up and cracks Mijashi with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Cannon works his way into side control. Mijashi is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannon working the ground and pound. Mijashi takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Cannon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mijashi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Cannon is working for a kimura but Mijashi is defending it quite comfortably.
Mijashi is trying to control but can't.
Mijashi tries to roll over but Cannon keeps him under control. Cannon working Mijashi over with strikes. Mijashi pushes Cannon off looking to stand but Cannon dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mijashi is just riding it out for now. Cannon eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cannon stalling. Cannon prevents Mijashi from improving his position. Mijashi wants to get back to his feet. Mijashi wants to control but Cannon is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Cannon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Mijashi trying to control here.
Cannon lands strikes from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mijashi is trying to control but can't.
Mijashi is looking for a sweep. Cannon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cannon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mijashi tries to kick Cannon off but Cannon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Mijashi looks gassed! Cannon working Mijashi over with strikes. Mijashi trying to control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cannon sitting and controlling from the half guard. Cannon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mijashi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cannon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Mijashi wants to get back to his feet. Mijashi is defending against the submission attempts here by Cannon.
Mijashi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cannon scores with a couple of nice shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Cannon dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Cannon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Cannon lands a nice shot to the head. Cannon is landing with some decent strikes but Mijashi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Cannon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mijashi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mijashi and Cannon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Mijashi is looking for a sweep. Mijashi wants to get back to his feet. Cannon throws an elbow but Mijashi slips to the side and avoids it well. Mijashi is breathing heavily. Mijashi is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Cannon has hold of Mijashi's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Mijashi tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cannon cranks the arm and Mijashi screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Mijashi, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Chris Cannon!
