Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drake Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Koepfer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koepfer has chosen Mongol as his entrance music. Stephen Koepfer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stephen Koepfer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dragon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dragon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Koepfer tries to hold on but Dragon postures up.

Dragon working for a guillotine from mount but Koepfer is in no mood to give up.
Koepfer is looking to get to half guard.
Koepfer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dragon manages to capitalize on a mistake by Koepfer to take his back!
Dragon wants to control the position but Koepfer frees himself and scrambles - Dragon manages to regain control in side control.
Koepfer sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Dragon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Dragon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Dragon is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Dragon tries to free his leg and advance position but Koepfer is retaining full guard.

Koepfer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Koepfer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dragon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Koepfer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Dragon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Koepfer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dragon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Koepfer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dragon wants to get back to his feet but Koepfer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Koepfer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Koepfer has his takedown stuffed
and Dragon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dragon tries a head kick but it misses.
Koepfer dives in and grabs Dragon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dragon pushes down on Koepfer's head and hops out.
Dragon doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Koepfer counters with a leg kick.
Dragon slaps away a takedown attempt from Koepfer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Drake Dragon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Koepfer.

Koepfer has hold of one of Dragon's legs. Dragon is fighting the takedown attempt but Koepfer gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Koepfer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dragon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dragon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Koepfer manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Dragon decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Dragon is pushing Koepfer up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Koepfer has control of Dragon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dragon regains control of the situation pretty easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Koepfer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dragon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koepfer has managed to get both his arms back between Dragon's legs - danger averted.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Koepfer counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Dragon is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Koepfer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dragon walks away with a smile on his face. Koepfer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stephen Koepfer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Koepfer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
