The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
apples misses with a double jab.
johnny apples seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Donk. apples catches Barnes right on the button with a cross.

apples looks for a takedown but Barnes sprawls well.
Barnes on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

apples drops back, looking for a kneebar! Barnes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Barnes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Barnes!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barnes tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

apples might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

apples throws a looping overhand right but Barnes ducks down to avoid it.

Barnes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps apples's head backwards.
Barnes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Barnes.
Barnes moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! apples goes down! Can Barnes finish him!?

Barnes stands up and waves to apples to follow him.
apples is still on wobbly legs! Can Barnes finish him?
apples on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barnes. Barnes obviously looking to wear him down.
A head kick by Barnes - that's a beauty! apples is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Barnes can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
