Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Vass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Noelan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Vass could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Juan Noelan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Vass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Noelan! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Noelan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vass tries to clinch but Noelan is having none of it. Vass gets the takedown into side control. Vass decides to stand up, so the ref orders Noelan to his feet. Vass closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vass lands in his opponent's guard. Noelan wants to get back to his feet but Vass is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Noelan keeping moving, preventing Vass from controlling successfully. Vass has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Noelan is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vass stands up from Noelan's guard - Vass perhaps looking for a knockout. Vass wants to clinch up but Noelan keeps it at a distance. Vass looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Vass is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Vass is pressing down on Noelan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Noelan is holding on for now. Vass is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Vass is looking to take a break and control but Noelan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Noelan tries to get to full guard but Vass has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Noelan is looking to control Vass's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Noelan avoid being mounted?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Vass closes the distance and clinches. Noelan gets underhooks to prevent Vass's takedown attempt.
Vass breaks the clinch.
Noelan misses with a takedown attempt and Vass counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Vass content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vass seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Vass wants to work for an arm triangle but Noelan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Noelan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Noelan works his way to full guard. Good work. Noelan wants to stand but Vass is controlling the position. Vass gets to his feet. Noelan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Vass looking for a takedown here - he's got it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vass fails with a takedown attempt. Vass shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Noelan trying to control but Vass postures up.

Vass is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Noelan is just riding it out for now. Vass eventually gives up the hold. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Noelan is staying active underneath Vass, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Vass tries to stand but can't do so whilst Noelan controls his leg. Vass is trying to control the action in half guard but Noelan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nick Vass overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Noelan tries to buck Vass off but Vass is having none of it. Noelan is pushing Vass's head away, looking to escape. Vass manages to hold on to the position though. Vass just content to control the position. Vass working away. Vass decides to stand back up. Vass steps back and let's Noelan get back to his feet. Noelan has his takedown stuffed and Vass counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vass controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vass gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Vass dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Noelan closes the distance looking to clinch and Vass counters with a shoot takedown. Noelan fights it but they end up in guard. Vass looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Noelan keeping moving, preventing Vass from controlling successfully. Noelan wants to sweep but no luck. Vass is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Noelan keeping moving, preventing Vass from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nick Vass. Noelan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vass counters with a single leg into guard. Noelan didn't expect that. Vass sitting in guard here, content to control. Noelan keeping moving, preventing Vass from controlling successfully. Vass controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vass decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Noelan, up you get! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vass shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Noelan napping and manages to drive through into side control! Noelan is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Vass's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Vass! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Noelan has tapped! This one is allllll over!
