Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bas Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Sneijder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nigel Sneijder acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bas Rutten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nigel Sneijder! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sneijder manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Rutten trying to control but Sneijder is working from the bottom. Rutten is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sneijder is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Sneijder keeping full guard, as Rutten tries to pass. Rutten trying to control the position from guard on top but Sneijder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sneijder keeping full guard, as Rutten tries to pass.

Sneijder is looking for a triangle here but Rutten uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rutten stands up. Sneijder tries to clinch but Rutten moves out of range. Sneijder is looking to clinch. Nigel Sneijder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rutten shoots for a double leg takedown but Sneijder sprawls well. He's pushed Rutten's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nigel Sneijder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rutten circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sneijder gets caught flat footed, as Rutten shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutten looking to sit in guard and control but Sneijder gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Sneijder postures up in Rutten's guard and throws a big left but Rutten blocks it. Sneijder must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rutten has his foot on Sneijder's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sneijder works his way back into a safe position though.

Rutten is breathing heavily. Sneijder stays in close to Rutten's body and controls the position.
Rutten scrambles and gets back to his feet.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Sneijder is looking to clinch but Rutten is avoiding it.
Sneijder rushes Rutten and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Rutten drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rutten has Sneijder pressed against the cage, preventing Sneijder from circling away and getting back to striking at range. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Sneijder with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Sneijder tries a knee to the head but Rutten blocks it.
Rutten tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sneijder just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bas Rutten. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sneijder misses with a knee strike.

Sneijder misses with a knee to the head. Sneijder doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Nice body punch from Rutten. Sneijder unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sneijder is pressed up against the cage. Rutten has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sneijder down to the mat. Sneijder avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sneijder throws a wild body kick that Rutten sees coming a mile off. Rutten could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Rutten shoots in looking for a takedown. Sneijder tries to sprawl out of it but Rutten keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sneijder manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rutten shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sneijder sprawls well. Sneijder wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rutten gets slowly back to his feet. Sneijder throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Rutten looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sneijder fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rutten, pushing him back against the cage. Sneijder can't break the clinch.

And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Rutten dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Rutten closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rutten wants to take a breather but Sneijder is having none of it. Rutten prevents Sneijder from improving his position. Rutten is looking to take a break and control but Sneijder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rutten is controlling the pace.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sneijder moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rutten trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sneijder keeping moving, preventing Rutten from controlling successfully. Rutten passes easily into side control. Nice work.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rutten happy to just control the position for now. Sneijder is looking to regain half guard here but Rutten keeps moving and retains side control. Rutten staying calm.
Rutten goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sneijder has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rutten but great work by Sneijder.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutten is not content to let Sneijder control the position. Rutten manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sneijder's best efforts.
Sneijder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rutten is just riding it out for now. Sneijder eventually gives up the hold. Rutten trying to control but Sneijder postures up.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rutten keeping hold of Sneijder's head, controlling as best he can.
 The referee stands the fighters back up. Bas Rutten just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Rutten takes the fight into the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rutten wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rutten successfully pulls guard.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Rutten dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Sneijder closes the distance but Rutten moves to the side
and Rutten counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Sneijder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rutten. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rutten is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rutten is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sneijder has managed to free his arm - good work. Rutten is trying to control the action in half guard but Sneijder is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rutten is figuring out what he wants to do next. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sneijder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rutten is working away from the top position though. Rutten is looking to advance position but Sneijder won't allow it. Sneijder is staying active underneath Rutten, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sneijder darts in trying to clinch and Rutten counters with a series of strikes. Sneijder will be more careful next time no doubt.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rutten misses with a takedown attempt - Sneijder sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sneijder tries to clinch but Rutten moves away
and Rutten counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rutten. Sneijder misses with a knee to the head. Rutten leaning against his opponent.
Rutten wants a takedown.

Rutten is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Sneijder working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Sneijder scores with a knee to the head.
Rutten ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rutten no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Rutten is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Sneijder rolls with it to try and escape but Rutten cranks on the arm and Sneijder is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
