Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tomi Gakanori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kindo Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomi Gakanori!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kindo Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gakanori lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Suzuki has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Suzuki and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Suzuki throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Suzuki scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gakanori stuffs the takedown.
Tomi Gakanori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Suzuki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gakanori throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Suzuki dodges the punch combination from Gakanori.
Gakanori keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gakanori is breathing heavily.

Gakanori closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Suzuki sneaks back into half guard.

Suzuki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gakanori is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Suzuki wants to stand and escape but Gakanori is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gakanori with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Gakanori has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gakanori wants to control from the top but Suzuki keeps moving.
Gakanori wanted to stand there but Suzuki had control of the position.
Gakanori makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Gakanori has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Suzuki is proving hard to escape from.

Suzuki is looking to stand up but Gakanori isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gakanori swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A combination from Gakanori does no damage.
Suzuki tries for a takedown but Gakanori sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tomi Gakanori has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kindo Suzuki.

Gakanori is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Suzuki can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Well, if Gakanori is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gakanori stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Suzuki misses with a takedown

and Gakanori counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gakanori knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Suzuki on the ground.
Suzuki is trying to control the position but Gakanori postures up.
Suzuki is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Gakanori avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Suzuki wants to sweep here but Gakanori controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Suzuki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

You can see the frustration on Gakanori's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gakanori is looking to regain half guard here but Suzuki keeps moving and retains side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Suzuki tries to land a front kick but Gakanori steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Gakanori holds on to Suzuki around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.

A close second round but Kindo Suzuki will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!



Gakanori shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Suzuki's guard.
