Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hasashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shynia Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shynia Aoki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanzo Hasashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shynia Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki drives through with a takedown into guard.
Aoki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Aoki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hasashi wants to stand up but Aoki is controlling him.
Aoki stands and throws Hasashi's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Aoki creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hasashi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Hasashi is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Aoki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hasashi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hasashi avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Aoki.
Hasashi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aoki on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Aoki postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Aoki prevents Hasashi from escaping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hasashi parries the strikes from Aoki easily there. Aoki is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hasashi to escape.
Aoki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hasashi wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Aoki wants to control but Hasashi is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aoki lands a nice forearm strike.
Aoki looks gassed!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hasashi is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Aoki tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Hasashi is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ground and pound from Aoki seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Aoki dodges the punch combination from Hasashi.

Hasashi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hasashi wants it to stay on the feet.
Aoki avoids the body shot from Hasashi.
Hasashi lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Shynia Aoki has been cut.
Aoki blocks the body kick.
No luck for Aoki with that takedown attempt.
Aoki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hasashi, pushing him back against the cage.
Hasashi stops a takedown attempt from Aoki.
Hanzo Hasashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shynia Aoki.
Aoki has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hasashi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hasashi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Aoki avoids the head kick by Hasashi.
Aoki scores with a nice head shot.
Hasashi slips a jab and a cross from Aoki.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hasashi but Hasashi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hasashi swinging wildly here.
Aoki walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hasashi.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hasashi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice body kick there by Hasashi.
Hasashi looks for the body kick but Aoki saw that one coming.
Hasashi throws a head kick that misses.
Aoki fails to land with a series of punches.
Hasashi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Aoki avoids the head kick by Hasashi.
Aoki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hasashi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Aoki trying to control but Hasashi is working from the bottom.
Hasashi wants to get back to his feet but Aoki passes into half guard.
Aoki is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hasashi is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
