Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drew Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drew Mercer!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercer misses with a two punch combination.

Mercer rushes Harrison and presses him up against the cage.
Mercer scores with a hook to the body.

Mercer jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harrison passes into half guard.
Mercer tries to kick Harrison off but Harrison keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Harrison passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harrison moves to take his opponent's back.
Mercer just trying to survive but Harrison is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mercer staying busy and making it hard for Harrison to control.

Mercer fending off the submission attempt from Harrison.
Harrison keeps control of the position as Mercer tries to break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mercer breaks Harrison's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Harrison has his foot on Mercer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mercer works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mercer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Harrison pushes a forearm under Mercer's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Mercer is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
