Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christoper Midura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christoper Midura! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wayne Johnson! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Midura lands a body shot.
Johnson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Johnson stops Midura from standing up. Midura trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Midura looking to control.
Johnson prevents Midura from getting back to his feet. Johnson won't allow Midura to sweep him here. Midura controlling Johnson's posture. Johnson wants to control from the top but Midura keeps moving. Midura working a defensive guard here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Midura is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Midura circles away and we're back to standing. Johnson looks for a takedown but Midura sprawls well. Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Christoper Midura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Johnson. Midura throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Midura connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Johnson is rocked! Johnson scores with a takedown into Midura's guard. Johnson is still in real trouble! Can Midura finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson prevents Midura from getting back to his feet. Johnson seems to have recovered his senses. Midura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Midura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground. Johnson wants to control from the top but Midura keeps moving. Midura wants to stand and escape but Johnson is having none of it. Midura is breathing heavily. Johnson trying to control but Midura is working from the bottom. Johnson passes Midura's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Midura trying to control from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Midura sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Midura misses with a straight left. Midura bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Johnson's head. Midura looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. Midura throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut lands for Midura. That snapped Johnson's head back.
Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Midura tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Midura to the ground. Midura escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Midura scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Midura, as that shot connected.
Midura gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Midura tries to land a sweep but no joy. Johnson passes Midura's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Johnson working the head and body with strikes. Johnson thows a huge punch but Midura dodges it nicely.
Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Midura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Midura has managed to free his arm - good work. Johnson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Johnson trying to control the action but Midura is working from the bottom. Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Midura is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Johnson tries to pass to full mount but Midura defends it. Midura tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg. Johnson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Midura is trying to control but can't.

Johnson moves into the clinch. Johnson prevents Midura from breaking the clinch. Midura gets underhooks to prevent Johnson's takedown attempt.

Midura slows down the pace here.

Midura manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Midura just stands there and leans against the cage. Johnson wants a takedown but no success here.

Midura has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Midura trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Johnson cracks Midura with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Midura on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Midura tries to get out of the position. Johnson controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christoper Midura dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Midura throws a right and a left that both miss. Johnson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Johnson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Midura. Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Christoper Midura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Christoper Midura is winning the standup battle so far. Midura cracks Johnson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Midura looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnson working away. Johnson trying to control the position but Midura is working away. Johnson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Midura gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Johnson pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to control but Midura wriggling away. Midura is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Midura is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Johnson has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Midura is forced to tap!
