Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roman Empire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Empire might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Protectors of the Earth. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roman Empire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rick Ross!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross throws a head kick but Empire moves out of range.
Ross ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Empire moves away.
Ross misses with a low kick.
Empire uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ross.
Some wild striking there from Ross.
Ross tries to close the distance and clinch up but Empire swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ross throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ross takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Ross throws a leg kick but Empire sees it coming and moves out of range.
Empire has Ross up against the cage in a clinch.
Ross can't break the clinch.
Empire has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ross is trying to keep an underhook but Empire manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Ross is looking to improve his position.
Empire wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ross keeps working.

Ross has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Empire is working away from the top position though.

Ross shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ross was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
