Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis comes into the arena with Enter Sandman blaring out of the sound system. Danny Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danny Johnson! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Reis.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Reis. No luck for Reis with that takedown attempt. Reis tries to clinch but Johnson moves away and Johnson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Reis's guard now. Reis throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson prevents Reis from improving his position. Reis is trying to stand back up but Johnson is controlling him
Reis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though. Johnson lands strikes from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Reis! Poor strikes thrown by Johnson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Johnson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Reis to take his back! Johnson missing with punches from the back. Johnson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Reis has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Will Johnson go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Even with his hooks in, Johnson manages to miss with strikes from the back. Reis just trying to survive but Johnson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Reis fending off the submission attempt from Johnson. Reis manages to reverse the position and now he's in Johnson's guard. Nice work there by Reis.
Johnson looks gassed! Reis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Reis from controlling successfully. Johnson working a defensive guard here.
Reis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reis is one step ahead there. Reis trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. Reis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Johnson is looking to control Reis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted? Reis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Johnson defending well though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Reis wants to clinch but Johnson slips to the side and Johnson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Reis with a knee to the head.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Johnson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Reis with the ground and pound but Johnson uses the opportunity to regain guard. Reis throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Reis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Reis tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Reis plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Reis tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily and Johnson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Reis is lucky that one didn't land flush. Reis tries to clinch up. Reis stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Ricardo Reis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reis tries to advance to mount but can't. Johnson manages to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Danny Johnson. I've got Johnson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
