Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Lacroix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Overkill. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Lacroix! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mr Al! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Al throws a big shot that misses. Lacroix shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Al as he avoids it easily. Al throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Al throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Lacroix misses with a straight left. Lacroix displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Al throws out the jab. Lacroix misses with the combination.
Lacroix takes one to the chin there.
It looks like Paul Lacroix has been cut. Al slips a jab from Lacroix. Al connects with a body shot. Al moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Al uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lacroix has time to react.
Lacroix is rocked! Lacroix closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Al to the mat! Al manages to get full guard. Al working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lacroix. Lacroix is looking to work some ground and pound but Al has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lacroix with a flurry of punches that miss. Al keeping full guard, as Lacroix tries to pass. Lacroix postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lacroix is looking to work some ground and pound but Al has wrist control. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Al throws a low kick but Lacroix avoids it. Al throws a combination that misses and Lacroix counters with a lovely shot to the body. Lacroix throws a shot from downtown. Al moves away and avoids it. Lacroix fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lacroix is breathing heavily. Lacroix shoots in for a takedown but Al shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Lacroix. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Al misses with a straight right. Al moves out of range of the strikes. Lacroix throws a right hand that Al ducks under and follows up with a left that Al also avoids with ease. Al looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Al throws a sloppy head kick and Lacroix moves out of range easily. Al lands a nice shot that snaps Lacroix's head back.
Mr Al is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lacroix slips a jab and a cross from Al.
Al feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lacroix's calf. Lacroix looks for the body kick but Al saw that one coming. Lacroix steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Al. A decent looking cross lands there for Al. Al throws a body punch but Lacroix moves out of range. Lacroix slips under a jab from Al.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Al wants to clinch up but Lacroix keeps it at a distance. Al is looking to clinch but Lacroix is avoiding it.
Al fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lacroix keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Al. Al swings away with a leg kick that misses. Lacroix darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Lacroix trying to pass the guard but Al defending well. Lacroix not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Al is defending against the submission attempts here by Lacroix.
Lacroix has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Al is trying to get back to full guard. Al is looking to control Lacroix's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Al avoid being mounted? As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lacroix seems to be working for a kimura but Al defends the submission attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mr Al dominated that round. The cut man is working on Paul Lacroix's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lacroix shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Al is breathing heavily. Lacroix throwing shots but Al is blocking nicely. Lacroix is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lacroix wants to free his trapped foot but Al is holding on for dear life with his legs. Lacroix throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Al is staying active underneath Lacroix, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Lacroix not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Al blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lacroix. Lacroix is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Al defends it well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Al waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lacroix. Lacroix is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Good exchange - Al coming out on top. Lacroix checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Lacroix fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lacroix gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Al. Lacroix takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Lacroix slips a jab from Al. A lazy left from Al finds it's target. Al throws a good cross that connects.
Al misses with a hook. Lacroix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Al moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Al misses with a wild body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lacroix tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Al was well out of range. Poor timing from Lacroix. A telegraphed right hand from Al misses the target. Lacroix throws a hook but Al avoids it easily. Al tries a low kick but Lacroix avoids it. Lacroix misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Lacroix. That's going to take a lot out of him. Al thuds a left hand into Lacroix's body. Lacroix takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Al swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Al takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Al lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lacroix circles away quickly and effectively. Al swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lacroix counters with a right hand to the body. Lacroix throws a body punch but Al moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mr Al showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Paul Lacroix's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Mr Al seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lacroix takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jab by Al. Al throws an overhand right that lands on Lacroix's shoulder, as Lacroix tries to avoid the shot. Al looks to land a right hand but Lacroix moved out of range. Al fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Lacroix thows a left - swing and a miss! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lacroix moves out of range as Al strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lacroix fails with a takedown attempt. A bone on bone clash there as Lacroix blocks the leg kick.
Al lands with a good body shot. Lacroix feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Al has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Al looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lacroix is one step ahead there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lacroix accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lacroix thows a big elbow that misses. Lacroix postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lacroix passes easily into side control. Nice work. Lacroix postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Al managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lacroix.
Al wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lacroix uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Al. Al loads up on a big right hand but Lacroix slips the punch. Lacroix displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Al throws out the jab. Al misses the body punch and Lacroix counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lacroix lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Lacroix thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lacroix missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Lacroix looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
