Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jim James! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks James to the ground! Miller dives into full mount looking to finish!
James is rocked!
It looks like Jim James has been cut. Miller fails to move to back control. James is still in real trouble! Can Miller finish him? Miller is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but James is surviving well by controlling Miller's body position as best he can. James seems to have recovered his senses. James regains half guard. James tries to get to full guard but Miller has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller is tying to control. James wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. James tries to roll over but Miller keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Miller pulls his head out easily. James looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. James moves into full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Miller clinches with his opponent.

James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. James closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Miller looking for submissions off his back. Miller manages to get to full guard.
Miller is breathing heavily. Miller keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. James is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Miller tries to land a sweep but no joy. James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard. Miller working a defensive guard here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Miller misses with a head kick.
James feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. James pushing down on Miller's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James trying to mount his opponent but Miller defends it. Miller is not content to let James control the position. Miller trying to control from the bottom.
Miller looking for submissions from an awkward position here. James seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Miller is pressing down on James's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Miller trying to keep a closed guard but James is proving a slippery customer.

Jimmy Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A head kick misses from Miller. Miller tries to clinch there but James circles away.

Miller lands an elbow that stopped James in his tracks for a moment. The is referee keeping an eye on Miller - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

James is working for takedown but Miller is calmly controlling the position for now. Miller breaks the clinch.
James closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Miller manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! James is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. James is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Miller's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Miller's back! James trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Miller just trying to survive but James is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. James is trying to stick to Miller's back but Miller is turning into James. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in James's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Miller. James not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Miller has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Miller avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Miller is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Miller drops back, looking for a kneebar! James looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. James looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from James!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. James has hold of Miller's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Miller seems comfortable defending it but James has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Miller is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Miller is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but James couldn't care less - he's delighted!
