The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salmoni bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Salmoni is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Spiderman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Spiderman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Salmoni wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Salmoni thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Salmoni tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Salmoni has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Spiderman gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salmoni is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Spiderman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Salmoni.
Salmoni looking for a submission but Spiderman manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Spiderman will probably get the nod.

Spiderman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Salmoni dives in and grabs Spiderman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Spiderman pushes down on Salmoni's head and hops out.
Salmoni feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Salmoni is working an open guard so Spiderman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Salmoni or perhaps it was just good defense by Spiderman which made him look bad.
Salmoni shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Salmoni was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
