0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cosby Kingston! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kingston dodges the punch combination from Barton.
Kingston will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kingston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kingston decides to stand up, so the ref orders Barton to his feet. Kingston looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Barton fails with the takedown so Kingston counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Barton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kingston gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kingston working some strikes from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barton has his foot on Kingston's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kingston prevents Barton from improving his position. Barton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Barton is breathing heavily. Barton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

I looks like Kingston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Kingston decides to stand up, so the ref orders Barton to his feet.

Barton tries to clinch but Kingston moves away and Kingston counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kingston. Barton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kingston thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Barton is looking for a triangle but Kingston pushes his legs off easily.
Barton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kingston controls the pace. Kingston must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kingston trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Barton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kingston gives him a little smile and shakes his head. Kingston throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Barton's body to avoid the submission. Barton has instead reached around Kingston's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Barton arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
