Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tommy Random!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pancho Villa!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Random misses with a hook.
Random swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Random slips a straight right by Villa.
Random jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Random looks to throw the jab but Villa is out of range.
Random displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Villa.
Random lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Pancho Villa has been cut.
Random throws a right and a left that both miss.
Villa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Random misses with a straight right.
Villa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Random.
Villa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Random moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Villa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Random on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Random tries to get out of the position.
Villa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Random defends it well.
Villa missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Villa stops Random from getting back to his feet.
Villa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Random with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Villa throwing shots but Random is blocking nicely.
Villa decides to return to a standing position.
Random throws a looping overhand right but Villa ducks down to avoid it.
Random thows a body shot but no joy.
Villa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Random moves away.
Villa misses the shot to the body.
Villa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A jab lands there for Random.
Horrible takedown by Villa or perhaps it was just good defense by Random which made him look bad.
Villa looks gassed!
Villa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Random counters with a crisp right hand that drops Villa! Random lets Villa back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Villa is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Villa ducks into an uppercut from Random and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tommy Random!
