Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogers's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ted Nugent's Stranglehold. Eric Rogers is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Rogers! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jay Kim! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim's corner calls for a 1-2. Kim obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Rogers tries for a takedown but Kim sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kim fails to land with a series of punches.
Rogers shoots in but no luck this time. Kim lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kim lands with an uppercut that bounces Rogers off the cage and back into rage. Rogers has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kim wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Rogers takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rogers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kim's half guard. Rogers is working for a kimura but Kim is defending it quite comfortably.
Kim is positioning himself well to prevent Rogers advancing to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers prevents Kim from improving his position. Kim is trying to maintain the position but Rogers is very close to passing his half guard. Kim is looking for a sweep. Rogers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rogers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kim is controlling Rogers's trapped leg to prevent Rogers from advancing to side control. Rogers is working for a kimura but Kim is defending it quite comfortably.
Kim is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rogers is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kim has managed to free his arm - good work. Kim is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kim is pressing down on Rogers's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers preventing the sweep. Rogers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rogers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rogers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rogers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rogers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rogers is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rogers on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Donk. Kim catches Rogers right on the button with a cross.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rogers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kim defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rogers. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kim!
A left lands for Kim. Kim throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Kim cracks Rogers with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Kim is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Kim connects with a jab. Kim cracks Rogers with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kim lands with a good body shot. Kim scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Kim scores with a one two! Rogers had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Kim dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kim connects with a looping right hand.
Rogers tries for a takedown but Kim sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rogers takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Rogers gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Rogers darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kim wants to control but Rogers is keeping busy.
Kim moves into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers stopping the sweep attempt from Kim.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rogers slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rogers tries for a kimura but Kim is defending well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kim is looking to reverse the position. Rogers has an Americana. Kim didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rogers is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rogers hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Eric Rogers! Eric Rogers is the new middleweight champion!
