Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Liandro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kelly McFillin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFillin fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Liandro is out of range.
Liandro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Liandro wants to free his trapped foot but McFillin is holding on for dear life with his legs.
McFillin gets back to full guard.
McFillin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liandro is one step ahead there.
Liandro is looking to work some ground and pound but McFillin has wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

McFillin has his takedown stuffed
and Liandro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McFillin's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McFillin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Liandro's guard.

Liandro pulls McFillin in close to his closed guard and prevents McFillin from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McFillin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McFillin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Liandro looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McFillin!
Liandro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McFillin on the ground.

McFillin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
McFillin gets back to half guard.
Liandro is just content to waste time from the top position. McFillin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
McFillin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Liandro!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A combination from McFillin does no damage.
McFillin shoots in looking for a takedown. Liandro tries to sprawl out of it but McFillin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Liandro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Liandro shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McFillin's guard.
Liandro looking to sit in guard and control but McFillin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Liandro is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
McFillin stands and throws Liandro's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McFillin tries for a kimura but Liandro is defending well.

McFillin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McFillin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Liandro is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McFillin advances to full mount.

Liandro is trying to escape the mount.
Liandro tries to lock up and control but McFillin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Poor strikes thrown by McFillin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
McFillin wants to control the pace but Liandro is squirming around nicely.

McFillin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Kelly McFillin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
