PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Mouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Preved Medvedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Medvedov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Вечно молод . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Preved Medvedov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jerry Mouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Preved Medvedov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mouse fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Medvedov has managed to clinch.
Medvedov prevents a takedown attempt there.

Medvedov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Medvedov forces Mouse back against the cage and clinches.

Medvedov gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Mouse moves into full guard.

Mouse escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Medvedov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Medvedov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mouse is breathing heavily.
Mouse wants to improve his position but instead Medvedov has moved into half guard.
Medvedov not doing much here.

Mouse tries to roll over but Medvedov keeps him under control.

Mouse is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Medvedov pulls his head out easily.
Medvedov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mouse. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mouse wants to get back to full guard.
Medvedov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mouse keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Medvedov prevents Mouse from getting the reversal.

Medvedov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
I looks like Medvedov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Mouse keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mouse is squirming around, avoiding Medvedov's attempts to control the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mouse is trying desperately to improve position.

Preved Medvedov dominated that round.
That's time! Mouse's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Medvedov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mouse napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mouse tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Medvedov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A lull in the action here as Medvedov stalls from top position.
Mouse is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Medvedov off and has taken his back!

Mouse has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Medvedov has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Mouse is looking for the choke from the back position but Medvedov is controlling his hands well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mouse is looking for a rear naked choke here but Medvedov reverses the position brilliantly into Mouse's guard!
Mouse wants to sweep but no luck.

Mouse is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Medvedov defends well.

Mouse had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Medvedov defends it easily.
Medvedov wants to control from the top but Mouse keeps moving.

Mouse looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Medvedov puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Medvedov trying to control the position from guard on top but Mouse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jerry Mouse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mouse is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Medvedov is aware though and is defending well.

Medvedov is looking to stand up but Mouse won't let him.

Mouse is looking for a triangle here but Medvedov uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mouse is looking to reverse the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mouse swats away the attempt to clinch by Medvedov.
Medvedov stuffs the takedown attempt from Mouse. Mouse gets slowly back to his feet.

Mouse drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mouse tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mouse is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Medvedov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerry Mouse dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Medvedov has Mouse up against the cage in a clinch.

Medvedov breaks from the clinch.
Medvedov tries to close the distance and clinch but Mouse swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mouse doesn't succeed with the takedown

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Medvedov gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Mouse lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Medvedov!

Mouse is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Medvedov is surviving well by controlling Mouse's body position as best he can.

Mouse is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Medvedov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Medvedov shrugs it off.

Medvedov is looking to improve his position but Mouse isn't that keen on the idea.

Mouse working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Medvedov is trying to escape the mount but Mouse keeps good control and instead manages to take Medvedov's back.

Mouse has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mouse is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Medvedov is defending well though. Mouse let's go of the attempt for now.

Mouse is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Medvedov knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Medvedov for a finish.

Mouse has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Medvedov is defending well but eventually Mouse manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Medvedov has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
