McCarthy has chosen All Hope Is Gone - Slipknot as his entrance music. Masayo Nagase had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac McCarthy!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagase throws a hook but McCarthy avoids it easily.
Nagase takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nagase bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McCarthy is looking to regain half guard here but Nagase keeps moving and retains side control.
Nagase is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McCarthy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on McCarthy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McCarthy tries to escape but Nagase is in control.
Nagase wants to lay and pray for a moment but McCarthy keeps working.
McCarthy is looking for a sweep.
Nagase avoids the strikes from the bottom by McCarthy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McCarthy moves into the clinch successfully.
Nagase is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McCarthy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

McCarthy lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

McCarthy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A good leg kick by McCarthy.
McCarthy throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Nagase stumbling backwards into the cage! Nagase bounces back off the cage towards McCarthy, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! McCarthy lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! McCarthy celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Cormac McCarthy!
