Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, De La Marca! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gary Peterson! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Marca fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Peterson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like De La Marca has been cut. Peterson lands with a straight right. Marca didn't see that one coming. Peterson slips under a jab from Marca. Peterson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marca misses with a body shot.
Gary Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marca shoots in but Peterson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Peterson looks to land a combination but Marca avoids it well. Marca looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Peterson! Marca is stalling here but it's allowed Peterson to get half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peterson wants to get back to his feet. Marca trying to pass the guard but Peterson defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marca winds up and cracks Peterson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Marca missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Marca is looking to take a break and control but Peterson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Peterson is looking to escape. Marca sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Marca stops Peterson from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marca working over Peterson with some ground and pound. Peterson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Peterson is looking to escape. Marca is keen to just control but Peterson is a slippery customer. Marca not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Marca throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Peterson pushes Marca off looking to stand but Marca dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Peterson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A cross from Peterson lands. Marca gets a takedown into half guard. Marca stops Peterson from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marca takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Peterson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Marca. Marca is working for a kimura but Peterson is defending it quite comfortably.
Marca seems to be looking for submissions.
Peterson tries to kick Marca off but Marca keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Marca throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Marca is looking to land body kicks. A punch combination from Peterson misses. Marca pivots, looking for a leg kick but Peterson is out of range and Marca settles back down. Peterson throws a combination. Marca tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Marca showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Peterson.
Peterson Rushes Marca and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Marca is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Peterson Piles on the pressure and Marca crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
