Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacks Sole!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackman throws a leg kick that misses.
Sole misses with a series of wild punches.
Sole circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jacks Sole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Russell Jackman has been cut.

Sole gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sole manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackman manages to get himself to full guard.

Sole got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sole has managed to get both his arms back between Jackman's legs - danger averted.

Jackman throws out a leg kick but Sole moves out of range and Jackman only half commits.
Sole fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jackman goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Jackman fails to pull guard.
Jackman with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Jackman keeps control of Sole as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jackman tries to stall but Sole uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sole tries to break free but Jackman pushes him back against the cage.

Sole breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jackman misses with a body shot.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nice shot lands for Sole.
Jackman walks into a jab.
Nice body punch from Sole.
Sole scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Jackman moves in looking to clinch but Sole pushes him off.
Sole dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jackman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sole tries to avoid it but Jackman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sole to the ground. Sole escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russell Jackman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sole lands a nice looking body shot.
Jackman is breathing heavily.

Sole throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sole will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Jackman counters by moving into the clinch.
Jackman tries to break the clinch but Sole is controlling the position.

Sole is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jackman had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sole lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Sole counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jackman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sole gets to his feet. Jackman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jackman shoots for a double leg takedown but Sole sprawls well. He's pushed Jackman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sole throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Sole counters with a nice body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sole just misses with a punch to the body.
Sole changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jab, jab by Sole - just one landing.
Jacks Sole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sole cracks Jackman with an open hand slap.
Jackman on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Sole works over Jackman's head and body with a nice combination.


Russell Jackman's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Sole bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jackman's head backwards.

Jeez, Russell Jackman's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Jackman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Russell Jackman's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
