Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mbeki Mbrowne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mbeki Mbrowne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mbrowne tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Johnson pushes Mbrowne up against the cage in a clinch.
Mbrowne tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Johnson moves into the clinch.
Johnson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mbrowne is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mbrowne down to the mat. Mbrowne avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mbrowne can't do much from the bottom here.
Mbrowne sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Mbrowne is refusing to be controlled, as Johnson sits in half guard.

Mbrowne looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Mbrowne is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson stalling.
Johnson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mbrowne is looking to improve his position.
Mbrowne is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mbrowne avoid being mounted?
Johnson drops an elbow to the side of Mbrowne's head.

Johnson is trying to work for a kimura but Mbrowne is defending well.
Johnson is just content to waste time from the top position. Mbrowne takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mbrowne is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Johnson stops Mbrowne from standing up.
Mbrowne can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Johnson looks gassed!
Johnson is thwarting Mbrowne's attempts to control the position.
Mbrowne gets back to full guard.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Mbrowne keeps moving.
Johnson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mbrowne kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Mbrowne preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mbrowne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson trying to control but Mbrowne is working from the bottom.

Mbrowne had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Johnson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mbrowne Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Johnson's back instead.
Mbrowne struggling to keep hold of the position.
Johnson has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Mbrowne has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Johnson.
Mbrowne lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Johnson can't escape the position.
Mbrowne throws a series of strikes and Johnson wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here.
Johnson is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Johnson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Mbrowne's attempts to control the action.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johnson tries to reverse the position but Mbrowne maintains control.
Johnson wants to hold on but Mbrowne pushes him away.
Johnson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mbrowne punishing his opponent with strikes.

Mbrowne looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mbrowne is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Johnson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mbeki Mbrowne will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mbrowne's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mbrowne lands a glancing blow to the side of Johnson's head.
Mbrowne uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Johnson trying to control but Mbrowne is working from the bottom.

Johnson lying in Mbrowne's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Mbrowne decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Johnson taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mbeki Mbrowne!
