PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hijav Bahrai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giorgio Lombardi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Hijav Bahrai has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Hijav Bahrai seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hijav Bahrai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Giorgio Lombardi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bahrai misses with a low kick.
Lombardi takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hijav Bahrai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bahrai throws a leg kick but Lombardi sees it coming and moves out of range.
Bahrai needs to keep his hands up - Lombardi had a free shot at his head there.
Bahrai buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Lombardi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bahrai looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Bahrai tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lombardi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bahrai is on top in guard.

Bahrai drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lombardi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bahrai has Lombardi in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lombardi is looking to stand up but Bahrai isn't so interested in that idea.

Bahrai is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lombardi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lombardi's back!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
