Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Master Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukus Haas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Master Bates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lukus Haas! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bates is looking to clinch. Bates fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bates is looking to clinch but Haas is avoiding it.
Bates moves into range and clinches up with Haas. Haas can't get the takedown.
Bates drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Bates has had enough of the clinch but Haas keeps him there for the moment. Haas gets a trip takedown into half guard. Bates controlling the position for now. Bates is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Haas wants to free his trapped foot but Bates is holding on for dear life with his legs. Haas works his foot free and advances to mount. Haas sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Bates working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haas avoids the attempt from Bates to control. Bates knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Haas on the ground. Haas mounts Bates! Really nice guard pass there! Haas takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Haas has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haas looks gassed! Bates just trying to survive but Haas is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Haas working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bates is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bates wants to control his opponent's hands but Haas gets his hands free. Haas is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
You can see the frustration on Bates's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Bates covering up well under a barage of strikes. Haas controlling well, preventing Bates from escaping the position.
Haas tries to get the hooks in deep but Bates pushed the leg off. Bates trying to control the hands but Haas won't let him. Bates tries to break free.
Good control from Haas. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Haas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bates is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Haas gets his way!
Haas doesn't have the hooks in and Bates manages to turn into his guard.
Haas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bates's guard. Haas lands a couple of digs. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Haas looking to pass the guard. Haas slips nicely into half guard. Haas is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Bates is looking to improve his position but Haas isn't that keen on the idea. Bates is trying to reverse the position but instead Haas has taken his back - oops! Bates wants to escape the position.
Bates wants to get back to his feet. Haas is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Haas controlling well, preventing Bates from escaping the position.
Haas punishes Bates with strikes from the back mount. Haas tries to keep control of the position but Bates is staying busy. Haas is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Haas gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Haas gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Haas apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Bates is rocked! Nice takedown defense from Bates. No joy for Haas on that attempt. Master Bates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukus Haas. Bates tries to clinch but Haas is having none of it. Bates throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Haas. Danga de danga de dang - Bates scores with a four punch combination! Bates cracks Haas with a good jab. Bates keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bates scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bates is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bates misses with a few strikes there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bates fails with an attempt to clinch.
Master Bates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bates throws a series of punches but Haas avoids them all with ease. Haas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Haas staying out of range there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lukus Haas dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Haas throws a right and a left that both miss. Bates misses with a combination
and Haas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bates's guard now. Bates controls Haas momentarily but Haas frees himself. Bates wants to stand up but Haas is controlling him. Haas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bates, up you get! Bates moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Haas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Haas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bates knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bates is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Bates wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bates regains half guard. Haas is breathing heavily. Bates is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bates pushes Haas off looking to stand but Haas dives back in and keeps control.
Bates has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Haas is working away from the top position though. Bates on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bates tries to get out of the position. Haas prevents Bates from improving his position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Bates throws a nice looking combination but Haas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bates swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Haas counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Bates misses with a combination
and Haas counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bates's knee momentarily. Haas fails with the takedown. Bates moves in looking to clinch but Haas pushes him off. Haas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Haas lands in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bates striking off his back but it's not causing Haas any problems. Haas wants to control from the top but Bates keeps moving. Haas pushing down on Bates's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Haas trying to control from half guard but Bates is working away. Lukus Haas has got the better of the ground game so far. Haas has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bates defend it? Haas steps over the head and cranks it - Bates is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Haas!
