Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank E! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raymundo Sanchez! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! E feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sanchez wants to stand up but E is controlling him. Sanchez keeping moving, preventing E from controlling successfully. Sanchez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. E looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sanchez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sanchez wants to sweep here but E controlling him for the moment. E stays in close to Sanchez's body and controls the position. E stopping the sweep attempt from Sanchez. Sanchez is trying to keep E in close.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. E is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sanchez wants to clinch but E slips to the side letting E counter with a right hand. Sanchez blocks a head kick by E.
E circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sanchez throws a head kick that misses. Sanchez tries to clinch up. E swings and misses with a hook to the body.
E bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. E advances nicely into full mount. E scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Sanchez is wriggling around trying to escape.
E lands a big shot there that rocks Sanchez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
E trying to control but he's not successful this time. E landing strikes, looking to finish! E content just to control the position here. Sanchez is looking to improve his position but E isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. E fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Sanchez is working to get back to half guard.
Sanchez is trying to stand up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. E with a couple of short strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! E wants to control the pace but Sanchez is squirming around nicely. E working Sanchez over with strikes here. Sanchez taking shots to the head. E is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Sanchez is forced to tap! Great finish!
