Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pol Rawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Marcurius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Marcurius is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pol Rawn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexander Marcurius! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcurius looks to land a combination. Rawn sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Marcurius lands a two punch combo.
Nice takedown defense from Marcurius. No joy for Rawn on that attempt. Rawn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Marcurius avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Marcurius misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Marcurius!
Rawn shoots in for a takedown but Marcurius shows good takedown defense. Rawn drives through with a takedown into guard. Rawn trying to control but Marcurius is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rawn controls from within his opponent's guard. Rawn trying to control but Marcurius is working from the bottom. Marcurius really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rawn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rawn postures up.
Marcurius is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rawn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marcurius avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Marcurius has his feet on Rawn's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Marcurius works over Rawn's head and body with a nice combination. Rawn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marcurius but Marcurius pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pol Rawn. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rawn. Some wild striking there from Rawn.
Rawn tries for a takedown but Marcurius sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Pol Rawn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rawn fails with a takedown attempt. Marcurius lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Marcurius. Marcurius tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rawn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rawn misses with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Left hook, right uppercut from Marcurius. Marcurius shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marcurius showed some decent athleticism there. Rawn slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Rawn keeping moving, preventing Marcurius from controlling successfully. Rawn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rawn has his hands on Marcurius's head, controlling the position. Rawn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Marcurius defends it easily. Marcurius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rawn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Rawn looking to control.
Rawn trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Rawn keeping full guard, as Marcurius tries to pass. Rawn trying to keep a closed guard but Marcurius is proving a slippery customer.
Rawn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rawn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rawn is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marcurius has managed to free his arm - good work. Rawn is keen to just control but Marcurius is a slippery customer. Marcurius has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rawn is working away from the top position though. Rawn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Marcurius!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rawn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marcurius is looking to get to half guard. Rawn looking to control but Marcurius is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rawn is landing with some decent strikes but Marcurius is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Marcurius is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rawn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Marcurius can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Marcurius wants to control but Rawn is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pol Rawn will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Marcurius moves out of range of the strikes. Rawn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Marcurius counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Marcurius lands a jab to the nose. Rawn tries for a takedown but Marcurius circles away easily and Marcurius counters by moving into the clinch. Marcurius lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Rawn wants to control but Marcurius is keeping busy and won't allow it. Marcurius is trying to control. Rawn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rawn flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Rawn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Marcurius prevents Rawn from improving his position. Rawn has his hands clasped together around Marcurius's back. He's all about the action. Rawn slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Rawn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marcurius's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rawn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rawn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Marcurius's head. Marcurius keeping moving, preventing Rawn from controlling successfully. Marcurius trying to control the position.
Rawn controls from within his opponent's guard. Marcurius is looking to stand up but Rawn isn't so interested in that idea. Rawn postures up.
Marcurius can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rawn controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Marcurius pulls Rawn in close to prevent any damage. Rawn drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Marcurius dives on top into guard. Marcurius won't allow Rawn to sweep him here. Rawn is working hard here to advance position. Marcurius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rawn swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marcurius preventing the sweep. That's three minutes gone in the round. Rawn wants to sweep here but Marcurius controlling him for the moment. Rawn throws a couple of heel strikes.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rawn with a lazy takedown attempt and Marcurius counters with a head kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pol Rawn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marcurius moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Rawn with a poor takedown and Marcurius counters with a nice uppercut. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rawn with a poor takedown and Marcurius counters with a takedown into side control. Rawn gets back to half guard. Rawn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Marcurius is working for a submission of some sort.
Marcurius is stalling here. Rawn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Marcurius seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rawn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rawn working away. Rawn is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Marcurius will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Marcurius is looking to regain half guard here but Rawn keeps moving and retains side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marcurius can do anything to dispel that myth. Rawn is looking to take a break and control but Marcurius is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rawn in side control, just content to control the action for now. Marcurius wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Marcurius showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Marcurius throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rawn throws out a loose jab but Marcurius uses good head movement to avoid it. Rawn doesn't succeed with the takedown and Marcurius counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rawn throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marcurius was covering up waiting for the punch and Rawn finishes the takedown easily into guard. Rawn throwing strikes but missing. Rawn stopping the sweep attempt from Marcurius. Rawn looking to sit in guard and control but Marcurius gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rawn controls Marcurius momentarily but Marcurius frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marcurius missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Marcurius in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Marcurius is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rawn has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Marcurius is looking to defend but Rawn has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Marcurius! Rawn pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Marcurius taps out and this one is all over!
