Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ross Kemp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Apollo Creed! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kemp throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kemp stuffs the takedown attempt from Creed. Creed gets slowly back to his feet. Kemp has Creed up against the cage in a clinch.
Kemp breaks from the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kemp throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Creed.
It looks like Apollo Creed has been cut. Creed wants to clinch and Kemp counters with an outside leg kick.
Creed with a lazy takedown attempt and Kemp counters with a head kick. Good exchange - Kemp coming out on top. A slapping leg kick lands for Kemp.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kemp goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Kemp gets a clinch. A right hand to the body from Kemp.
Kemp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kemp throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kemp connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Creed tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kemp counters with a flying knee. Nice. Creed darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Creed is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kemp is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kemp looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kemp stops Creed from getting back to his feet.
Creed is defending against the submission attempts here by Kemp.
Creed keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kemp keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Kemp is stalling here. Creed is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kemp seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Creed has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kemp sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Kemp is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Creed pulls his head out easily. Creed is looking for a kimura but Kemp is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Creed to get the leverage. Kemp slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Creed is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kemp has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Creed is looking to defend but Kemp has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Creed! Kemp pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Creed taps out and this one is all over!
